Three Westchester Store Employees Charged With Selling Tobacco, Vaping Products To Minors

Police in Greenburgh went to work this week, targeting smoke shops that sell tobacco products to underage customers, leading to several arrests.

On Monday, Feb. 4, members of the Greenburgh Police Department Drug and Alcohol Task Force conducted enforcement in the area, making three arrests of three employees at three different stores.

Each of the employees was charged with selling tobacco or tobacco products to a minor under the age of 18, a misdemeanor. In this instance, investigators found that Juul Pods vaping products were being sold to the underage shoppers.

Employees charged in Greenburgh include:

  • Elmsford resident Irving Rodriguez, 19, from The Smoke House on Saw Mill River Road in Elmsford;
  • Elmsford resident Carlos Patino-Lalvay, 20, from the Shell gas station on Dobbs Ferry Road in White Plains, and;
  • Yonkers resident Iyad A. Tamimi, 52, from the Shell gas station on Central Avenue in Scarsdale.

Each of the three employees was issued a desk appearance ticket and are scheduled to appear in Greenburgh Town Court on Friday, Feb. 15.
